Black Business Finder Privacy Policy

Effective date: 06/13/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how **Black Business Finder**, also called **BBF**, **we**, **us**, or **our**, collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the BBF mobile application, website, business directory, messaging tools, reviews, photos, notifications, and related services.

By using BBF, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

## 1. Information we collect

BBF may collect the following types of information.

### Account information

When you create or use an account, we may collect your email address, authentication provider, display name if provided, BBF username, user ID, account status, device tokens for notifications, and related account settings.

### Business profile information

If you submit or manage a business profile, we may collect business name, category, custom category, short description, long description, address, city, state, ZIP code, phone number, website, public or private contact email preference, social media handles or URLs, hours of operation, business photos, location coordinates, owner user ID, owner username, Black-owned or Black-led self-declaration, listing status, and listing history.

Business profile information submitted for public listings may be visible to other users.

### Location information

With your permission, BBF may use your device location to show nearby businesses and improve map and search results. You may also search by city, ZIP code, neighborhood, or address without using your current location.

BBF is designed to use your location for discovery. We do not intend to sell your precise location. Business locations submitted by owners may be stored and displayed publicly as part of business profiles.

### Messages and photos

When users and businesses message each other, BBF may collect message text, message photos, sender and recipient identifiers, conversation metadata, timestamps, read/unread status, and related records. BBF may use this information to deliver messages, send notifications, provide inbox features, review reports, enforce rules, and protect users.

### Reviews, ratings, reports, and blocks

BBF may collect ratings, written reviews, reports, moderation details, block records, report reasons, report descriptions, timestamps, user IDs, business IDs, conversation IDs, and other information needed to review safety, abuse, spam, harassment, discrimination, fraud, or policy concerns.

### Photos and uploaded content

BBF may collect photos uploaded for business profiles and message threads. Photos may include metadata depending on how they are uploaded, processed, or stored. BBF may resize, compress, crop, display, store, or moderate uploaded photos.

### Device and technical information

We may collect app version, device type, operating system, crash information, diagnostic information, push notification token, usage events, and server logs to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve BBF.

Do not submit information to public listing fields if you do not want it displayed publicly.

## 4. How we share information

BBF may share information as follows:

### With other users

Public business profiles, reviews, usernames, ratings, messages, photos sent in message threads, and related app content may be shown to users as needed to operate BBF.

### With business owners

If you message a business, the business owner may see your BBF username, message content, message photos, timestamps, and related conversation details.

### With service providers

BBF uses service providers to operate the app, including services for authentication, cloud database, file storage, push notifications, app hosting, analytics or diagnostics if enabled, and support tools. These providers may process information on BBF’s behalf.

### For legal, safety, and enforcement reasons

BBF may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our Terms, investigate abuse, respond to legal requests, protect safety, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or protect rights, property, and security.

### Business transfers

If BBF is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale, reorganization, or transfer of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to reasonable protections.

## 5. Black-owned and Black-led business information

BBF’s directory focuses on businesses that self-identify or are represented as Black-owned, Black-led, or otherwise eligible under BBF’s listing standards. This information is used to operate BBF’s directory and discovery features.

BBF does not permit users or businesses to use the app to unlawfully discriminate, harass, exclude, or target anyone based on race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other protected characteristics.

## 6. Reports, blocks, and moderation

BBF may collect and review reports and block records involving listings, conversations, photos, reviews, users, and businesses. Reports and blocks may include user IDs, business IDs, conversation IDs, message details, reasons, descriptions, timestamps, and status information.

We use this information to investigate abuse, spam, harassment, discrimination, unsafe conduct, fraud, or policy violations; to enforce our Terms; and to comply with platform requirements.

## 7. Push notifications

If you allow notifications, BBF may collect and store a push notification token associated with your account and device. We use this token to send message notifications and related app alerts. You can turn off notifications in your device settings.

If you delete or reinstall the app, sign into a different account, or change device settings, notification behavior may change.

## 8. Data retention

BBF keeps information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain business records, enforce policies, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, comply with law, protect users, and support backups or security needs.

Some information may remain after account deletion, including business records, reports, blocks, messages, reviews, moderation history, legal records, security logs, and backup copies where retention is reasonably necessary.

## 9. Account deletion and choices

You may request account deletion through the app where available. You may also contact us at **itsjosephsapps@gmail.com**.

Depending on the data type, deleting your account may not immediately delete public business listings, reviews, messages, reports, blocks, legal records, security records, or data retained for legitimate business, legal, safety, or fraud-prevention reasons.

You may also control certain information through the app, such as business profile details, public email display preference, listing visibility, notification settings, and uploaded photos.

## 10. Security

BBF uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no app, network, database, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and using BBF safely.

## 11. Children’s privacy

BBF is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to BBF, contact us at **itsjosephsapps@gmail.com**.

## 12. Third-party links and services

BBF may link to business websites, social media profiles, maps, phone numbers, booking tools, payment providers, or other third-party services. BBF is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. Review their privacy policies before using them.

## 13. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of certain personal information. To make a request, contact **itsjosephsapps@gmail.com**. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

## 14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

BBF may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we may notify you through the app, website, or other reasonable method. Continued use of BBF after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
