# Black Business Finder Terms and Conditions

Welcome to **Black Business Finder**, also referred to as **BBF**, **we**, **us**, or **our**. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the BBF mobile application, website, business directory, messaging tools, reviews, photos, business profiles, and related services.

By creating an account, browsing listings, submitting a business profile, sending messages, uploading photos, leaving reviews, or otherwise using BBF, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use BBF.

## 1. Purpose of BBF

BBF is a community directory designed to help users discover and support businesses that identify as Black-owned, Black-led, or otherwise eligible under BBF’s listing standards.

BBF is open to all users. Users of any race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability status, age, or background may browse the app, contact businesses, leave reviews, and use BBF in accordance with these Terms.

BBF does not permit unlawful discrimination, harassment, hate speech, threats, exclusionary conduct, or content that targets people or groups based on protected characteristics. The purpose of BBF is business discovery and community support, not unlawful exclusion or discriminatory treatment.

## 2. Accounts and usernames

Some BBF features require an account, including messaging, reviews, saving businesses, submitting a business profile, reporting content, blocking users, and managing business listings.

You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your account secure. BBF usernames must be unique, 6 to 20 characters, and may contain letters, numbers, and underscores. We may remove, change, or restrict usernames that impersonate others, violate rights, contain offensive language, or create confusion.

You are responsible for activity under your account unless caused by BBF’s failure to use reasonable security measures.

## 3. Business profiles and listing eligibility

Business owners or authorized representatives may submit business profiles to BBF. By submitting a business profile, you represent and warrant that:

1. You are authorized to submit and manage the listing.
2. The business information is accurate and current.
3. The business is Black-owned, Black-led, or otherwise eligible under BBF’s listing standards.
4. Photos, descriptions, links, and other submitted materials do not violate anyone else’s rights.
5. You understand that submitted business profile information may become public in the app and related BBF services.

BBF may publish, edit, hide, suspend, remove, or require changes to listings that are inaccurate, misleading, fraudulent, abusive, offensive, discriminatory, inactive, duplicative, unsafe, or inconsistent with BBF’s mission or policies.

BBF may use labels such as “self-declared,” “published,” or “verified.” Unless a listing is specifically marked verified, BBF may rely on information submitted by users or business owners. BBF does not guarantee that every listed business has been independently verified.

## 4. User-generated content

BBF may allow users and business owners to submit or share content, including business profiles, descriptions, photos, reviews, ratings, comments, messages, social media links, reports, and other materials. This is called “user content.”

You retain ownership of your user content, but you grant BBF a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, resize, moderate, transmit, and use your content as needed to operate, promote, improve, and protect BBF.

You may not submit content that:

1. Is false, misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive.
2. Infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
3. Contains harassment, threats, hate speech, bullying, or discriminatory language.
4. Contains sexually explicit, exploitative, violent, or illegal material.
5. Promotes scams, spam, malware, or unsafe activity.
6. Shares private information without permission.
7. Attempts to manipulate ratings, reviews, search results, or business visibility.
8. Violates any law, regulation, platform rule, or these Terms.

BBF may remove or restrict user content at any time. BBF is not required to monitor all content before it appears, but may review content after submission or after a report.

## 5. Reviews and ratings

Reviews should reflect real experiences or good-faith interactions with a business. You may not post fake reviews, paid reviews without disclosure, reviews for businesses you own or control unless clearly disclosed, or reviews intended to harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate.

BBF may remove reviews that violate these Terms, appear fraudulent, are irrelevant, contain private information, or are otherwise harmful to the BBF community.

## 6. Messaging

BBF may allow users to send private messages, text, and photos to businesses and allow businesses to respond. Messaging is intended for business-related communication such as availability, services, appointments, pricing, and general questions.

You may not use BBF messaging to harass, threaten, spam, scam, solicit unlawful activity, send explicit content, send discriminatory content, or share private information without permission.

BBF may store message content, photos, metadata, reports, and block records to operate messaging, deliver notifications, investigate abuse, enforce these Terms, and comply with legal obligations.

## 7. Reporting and blocking

BBF provides tools to report listings, reviews, conversations, users, and businesses that may violate these Terms or create safety concerns. BBF also provides tools to block users or businesses from continuing certain conversations.

Reports may be reviewed by BBF or its service providers. Reporting content does not guarantee removal. Blocking may limit communication in a conversation or between accounts, but it may not remove existing content already submitted.

BBF may use reports and blocks to investigate abuse, restrict accounts, hide listings, disable messaging, remove content, contact involved parties, preserve evidence, and comply with law or platform requirements.

## 8. Location features

BBF may use your device location, with your permission, to help you find nearby businesses. You may also search other locations manually. BBF does not require users to share live location to browse the app, but some location-based features may work better when location permission is enabled.

Business listings may include public business addresses, service areas, or map locations submitted by the business owner or authorized representative.

## 9. Third-party services and links

BBF may include links to websites, booking pages, social media profiles, maps, phone numbers, email addresses, and other third-party services. BBF does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, transactions, or disputes.

Users and businesses are responsible for their own interactions, purchases, appointments, bookings, payments, refunds, and disputes outside BBF.

## 10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

1. Use BBF for unlawful, harmful, abusive, discriminatory, or fraudulent purposes.
2. Scrape, copy, harvest, or misuse BBF data.
3. Attempt to bypass security, moderation, blocking, reporting, or access controls.
4. Interfere with the app, servers, databases, or other users.
5. Impersonate another person or business.
6. Submit malicious code, spam, or automated requests.
7. Use BBF to make decisions in a way that violates civil rights, consumer protection, employment, housing, credit, public accommodation, or other applicable laws.

## 11. Moderation and enforcement

BBF may investigate suspected violations and take action, including warning users, removing content, hiding listings, blocking messaging, suspending accounts, deleting accounts, preserving records, contacting law enforcement when appropriate, or taking other steps to protect users and the app.

BBF may moderate content in ways intended to support its mission while avoiding unlawful discrimination. BBF’s focus on Black-owned and Black-led business discovery is based on voluntary business identification and community directory purposes. It does not authorize users or businesses to discriminate unlawfully against anyone.

## 12. Intellectual property

BBF, including its name, design, logos, interface, features, and software, is owned by BBF or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reverse engineer, resell, or misuse BBF except as allowed by these Terms.

Business owners are responsible for ensuring they have rights to logos, photos, trademarks, descriptions, and other content they submit.

## 13. Disclaimers

BBF is provided “as is” and “as available.” BBF does not guarantee that listings are accurate, verified, available, safe, suitable, or free from errors. BBF does not guarantee that messages, notifications, reviews, maps, directions, links, or business information will always work or be current.

BBF is a discovery and directory tool. BBF is not responsible for services, products, prices, appointments, promises, transactions, damages, injuries, disputes, or outcomes involving users and businesses.

## 14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, BBF and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of BBF.

Where liability cannot be excluded, BBF’s liability will be limited to the amount you paid BBF, if any, for use of the service during the three months before the claim.

## 15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BBF from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of BBF, your user content, your business listing, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your violation of another person’s rights.

## 16. Account deletion

You may request account deletion through the app where available. Deleting an account may remove or disable your user profile, but BBF may retain certain records when necessary for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, reports, blocks, moderation history, business records, or backup systems.

Business listings, reviews, messages, and reports may not be removed immediately if they are needed to preserve the integrity, safety, or legal compliance of BBF.

## 17. Changes to these Terms

BBF may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, BBF may provide notice through the app, website, or other reasonable method. Continued use of BBF after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
