1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Luv Mediation ("Luv Mediation," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, stores, protects, and retains information when you use the Luv Mediation iOS application, website pages, booking tools, video-session workflow, support inbox, review and survey tools, discount-code features, notifications, and related services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Service").
Luv Mediation provides experience-based relationship guidance and practical conflict-resolution recommendations from Joseph Souffrant. Luv Mediation is not therapy, legal advice, court mediation, medical care, emergency support, or crisis care. Because clients may share sensitive relationship details, we treat session intake, private messages, recordings, and resolutions with care.
2. Information We Collect
Account and identity information
We collect information used to create and manage your account, including first name, last name, display name, email address, password credentials handled by Firebase Authentication, user ID, account creation date, sign-in records, account role, and account status.
Verified phone number
New client accounts are required to verify a mobile phone number. We collect the phone number, verification status, authentication identifiers, verification timestamps, and related security information. Verification helps identify clients, reduce misuse, support appointment communications, and enable owner-to-client communication tools.
Booking and session information
We collect session type, selected appointment time, time zone, booking status, payment status, discount-code use, reschedule and cancellation history, Google Meet link status, invite code information for Two-Person Resolution, participant identifiers, and appointment reminder details.
Private intake and relationship information
When you book a session, you may provide an issue summary, desired outcome, participant name, relationship context, and other details you choose to share. This information can be personal and sensitive. It is used to prepare for and provide the session and related resolution.
Payments and purchase information
Personal Clarity payments are processed through Stripe. Two-Person Resolution purchases on iOS are processed through Apple in-app purchase where required. We may store transaction IDs, payment status, purchase amount, refund status, discount-code details, and related booking records. We do not store full credit-card numbers in the app database.
Google Meet and video-session information
Confirmed sessions receive a Google Meet link. We may store a meeting URL, provider status, and metadata needed to connect the session. Google Meet itself may process information according to Google's terms and privacy policies when you join a meeting.
Recording-consent and owner audio-reference information
Clients may not record sessions. If all involved clients approve in the app during the meeting window, Joseph may create an owner-only audio reference using the app to help prepare the final decision. The app-level audio reference is intended for internal review only. Google Meet provider recording is not used by Luv Mediation in the current workflow.
Resolution, notes, surveys, and reviews
Joseph may create a written resolution, reasoning, action steps, and private owner notes tied to a session. Clients may complete a private survey after the session and after the resolution is posted. Survey answers may include whether the session was helpful, whether the resolution felt fair, suggested improvements, and a 1-to-5 rating. Public display is limited to rating summaries and excerpts that the client permits and Joseph chooses to feature.
Support inbox and communications
We collect messages sent through Contact Joseph, owner replies, timestamps, unread counts, thread status, email address, display name, phone number if available, and whether the sender has or had an appointment.
Device, notification, and technical information
We may collect device type, operating system, app version, Firebase Cloud Messaging token, Apple push notification token where applicable, crash or diagnostic information, IP address or network-derived information, log information, and technical data needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
Website information
When you visit josephsapps.com policy pages or Luv Mediation pages, Shopify or related website providers may process basic website data such as browser type, device information, IP address, cookies, and page interactions according to their own systems and settings.
3. Sources of Information
We collect information directly from you, from your device, from Firebase and Google services used to operate the app, from Stripe and Apple payment systems, from Google Meet, and from communications you send through the Service.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to create and secure accounts; verify phone numbers; provide booking, payments, discounts, and appointment scheduling; generate and display Google Meet links; deliver the session; support Two-Person Resolution invites; maintain owner notes and written resolutions; provide client surveys and ratings; send appointment, resolution, review, and support notifications; operate the Contact Joseph inbox; process refunds and cancellations; prevent fraud, spam, misuse, and unauthorized access; comply with legal, tax, payment, platform, and App Store obligations; improve the Service; and protect the rights, safety, and property of clients, Joseph, Luv Mediation, service providers, and others.
5. Legal Bases Where Applicable
Where laws require a legal basis for processing, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract with you; your consent; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving, and protecting the Service; compliance with legal obligations; and protection of vital interests in urgent safety situations. Recording consent is requested separately for each applicable session.
6. How We Share Information
We may share information with service providers that help operate the Service, including Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, database, hosting, Cloud Functions, Google Meet, and push messaging; Stripe for payment processing; Apple for in-app purchase and App Store services; Shopify or Joseph S Apps website infrastructure for public legal pages; email, messaging, support, security, analytics, hosting, and infrastructure providers; and professional advisors where needed.
We may disclose information if we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law, legal process, tax or payment obligations, fraud prevention, chargebacks, App Store or payment-provider rules, safety concerns, emergencies, investigations, enforcement of our Terms, or protection of rights and property.
We may share information with your direction or consent, such as when you join a Google Meet session, send a message, invite a participant, approve a recording reference, or allow a survey excerpt to be considered for public display.
7. Public Ratings and Featured Feedback
Public visitors or potential clients may see aggregate rating information, rating count, and owner-selected excerpts only when a client has allowed public-excerpt use. Private survey answers are not automatically public. We may edit featured excerpts for length, clarity, privacy, or safety without changing the substance.
8. Audio References and Recording Consent
Clients are not permitted to record sessions. Joseph may only create an owner-only app audio reference if all involved clients approve recording for that session in the app. The audio reference is used for internal review and decision preparation. It is not intended for public release, advertising, or sale. Recording consent can be declined; if consent is not provided by all required participants, the owner audio reference should not be started.
9. Payment Information
Stripe and Apple process payment details according to their own terms and privacy policies. We may receive and store transaction status, payment amount, payment intent IDs, Apple transaction IDs, refund status, and related metadata needed to confirm bookings, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and comply with business and legal obligations.
10. Notifications and Communications
If you allow notifications, we may send push notifications or in-app notices about bookings, Google Meet links, session reminders, reschedules, cancellations, owner resolutions, review reminders, support replies, and account activity. You may control push notifications through your device settings. Some service-related communications may still appear in the app.
11. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain accounts, process payments, resolve disputes, support tax and accounting records, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, protect safety, troubleshoot issues, comply with law, and operate legitimate business records.
Private intake, support messages, recording consent records, notifications, and other personal records may be deleted or anonymized when no longer needed or when you delete your account, subject to legal, payment, fraud-prevention, safety, dispute, backup, and recordkeeping needs.
12. Account Deletion
You can initiate account deletion inside the app through Profile > Account > Delete account. You may need to cancel upcoming confirmed sessions before deletion. When deletion is completed, we delete or anonymize eligible account data, including profile data, verified phone/profile fields, support inbox threads and messages, Firebase push tokens, unread notifications, survey reminder records, recording consent records, private intake where eligible, and personal attribution in public review records where applicable.
Some historical transaction, payment, refund, fraud-prevention, tax, safety, dispute, legal, or anonymized records may be retained where reasonably necessary or legally required.
13. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
You may update some profile and contact information in the app, manage device permissions, disable push notifications, decline recording consent, choose whether to provide public-excerpt permission in a survey, contact Joseph through the inbox, and request privacy help by emailing luvmediation@gmail.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, object to, or opt out of certain processing of personal information. We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising at launch. To exercise applicable rights, contact luvmediation@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
14. Children and Eligibility
Luv Mediation is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or book a session. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
15. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no app, website, database, payment system, video platform, or network can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your device, login information, and meeting links.
16. International Processing
Luv Mediation is operated from the United States. Information may be processed and stored in the United States and other places where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those places may differ from where you live.
17. Third-Party Links and Services
The Service may link to Google Meet, Stripe, Apple, Shopify, Joseph S Apps, email, messaging, or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services that we do not control.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we may provide notice in the app, by email, through the website, or by requiring acceptance of updated policies before continued use. The updated policy is effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated.
