TaxReady Privacy Policy
Official policy page for TaxReady Privacy Policy.
Effective Date: July 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Joseph S Apps, LLC (“Joseph S Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the TaxReady mobile application, website pages, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
TaxReady is designed to help users organize business income, expenses, receipt photos, W-2 photos, budget information, and exported reports. TaxReady is an organizational tool only. We are not accountants, tax preparers, lawyers, financial advisors, or payroll professionals, and the Service does not provide tax, accounting, legal, or financial advice.
By using TaxReady, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand how information may be handled.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create or sign in to an account, we may collect identifiers such as your user ID, email address, phone number, display name, authentication provider, and account status. Authentication may be handled through Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, email/password, or phone verification.
Financial organization information. TaxReady may store information that you enter, such as business names, entity type, business type, income, revenue, expenses, categories, payment methods, notes, personal budgeting accounts, account nicknames, manually entered balances, monthly budget categories, and budget transactions.
Tax document information. TaxReady may allow you to add photos or files of tax-related documents, including W-2 photos, receipt photos, exported PDF reports, and related notes. These documents may contain sensitive personal, employment, income, tax, or financial information. You are responsible for deciding what information to upload or store in TaxReady.
Photos, camera, and files. If you choose to attach receipt photos, W-2 photos, or other images, TaxReady may request access to your camera, photo library, or files. We use those permissions only to let you select, capture, store, export, and sync the documents you choose.
Reminder and notification preferences. If you enable reminders, we may store your reminder frequency, message, time, and related settings. Local notification permissions are managed by your device.
Device and technical information. We may collect or receive device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, diagnostics, IP address, server logs, security events, and similar technical information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
Support communications. If you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, message content, screenshots, attachments, and other information you choose to provide.
2. How We Use Information
We may use information to provide and maintain TaxReady, create and manage accounts, authenticate users, save and sync entries, store receipt and W-2 photos, generate and export reports, create PDF files, provide reminders, respond to support requests, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, protect security, comply with legal obligations, and improve the Service.
3. Local Storage and Cloud Sync
TaxReady may store information locally on your device. If you sign in and cloud sync is enabled, TaxReady may also store your information in cloud services such as Firebase Firestore and Firebase Storage. Cloud sync helps make your information available after signing in again or using another supported device.
If you use the Service without signing in, some information may remain only on your device unless you later sign in and sync it.
4. Third-Party Services
We may use trusted third-party service providers to operate the Service, including authentication, cloud database storage, file storage, hosting, analytics, diagnostics, notifications, app distribution, and customer support. These providers may process information only as needed to provide services to us or as otherwise permitted by their own terms and policies.
TaxReady may include a prompt intended to be copied into ChatGPT or another outside tool. If you export a PDF or upload information to ChatGPT, an accountant, tax software, cloud drive, email provider, or any other third-party service outside TaxReady, that sharing is controlled by you and is subject to that third party’s own terms and privacy policy.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the Service, with app stores and platform providers as needed, with legal authorities if required by law, with professional advisors, or when necessary to protect rights, safety, security, users, our business, or the public.
We may also share information if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
6. Sensitive Tax and Financial Information
TaxReady may store sensitive information that you choose to enter or upload. This may include income, expenses, W-2 photos, receipt photos, employer names, employee names, business notes, tax-year information, and financial account nicknames or balances. Please avoid uploading or entering information that you do not want stored in the Service.
TaxReady is not a substitute for professional tax software, bookkeeping software, payroll services, a certified public accountant, enrolled agent, attorney, or other qualified professional. You should consult a qualified accountant or tax professional before filing taxes, claiming deductions, submitting tax forms, relying on exported reports, or making tax or financial decisions.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect security, and maintain backups. Some information may remain in backups or logs for a limited period after deletion.
You may delete certain entries, receipts, W-2 photos, or local data within the app where those features are available. You may also contact us to request assistance with account or data deletion. We may retain information where required or permitted by law, including for fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or legitimate business records.
8. Your Choices
You can manage camera, photo, file, and notification permissions in your device settings. You can choose whether to add receipt photos, W-2 photos, budget information, or other details. You can choose whether to export or share PDFs outside the app. You may sign out of your account at any time.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for protecting your device, account credentials, and exported files.
10. Children
TaxReady is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information through TaxReady, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
11. International Users
If you use TaxReady from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you understand that privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date. Continued use of TaxReady after changes become effective means you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy.
