This Privacy Policy applies to Hopeless Ro, including the mobile app, website legal pages, account features, profile features, messaging features, Ro Signal, reports, support communications, and related services. It does not apply to third-party websites, app stores, devices, or services that we do not control.

2. Information You Provide

Depending on the features you use, you may provide:

• Account information: first name, private legal name, date of birth, age confirmation, email address, phone number, sign-in provider, password credentials if applicable, and account preferences.
• Profile information: public first name, age, city/state, bio, photos, relationship intention, height, body type, occupation, children/family plans, faith, dating pace, love language, communication style, “Why am I here?”, “My ideal match,” and other profile choices.
• Location information: current location if you grant device permission, ZIP code if you enter it, derived city/state, approximate availability area, distance radius, and Ro Signal status.
• Messages and interactions: First Five messages, Rose Room messages, photo messages, decisions, likes/interests, profile views where supported, blocks, reports, and date-planning or safety check-in information.
• Media: profile photos, message photos, camera/photo-library selections, cropped image versions, and related file metadata.
• Support information: emails, screenshots, descriptions, account identifiers, safety concerns, and any information you send to support.

3. Information Collected Automatically

When you use Hopeless Ro, we or our service providers may automatically collect:

• Device type, operating system, app version, browser type, language, and general technical settings.
• Authentication identifiers, user ID, session information, push notification tokens, and security signals.
• Usage data such as screens viewed, buttons tapped, features used, message delivery status, upload status, and error logs.
• Crash reports, diagnostic data, performance data, and fraud/abuse-prevention information.
• Approximate network information such as IP address, which may indicate general location.

4. Information From Third Parties

We may receive information from third parties when you use features connected to them, including Apple, Google, Firebase, app stores, cloud services, notification services, payment processors, analytics providers, moderation tools, or identity/authentication providers. This may include authentication IDs, email address, profile name, device token, purchase status, crash data, or security information depending on the service and permissions used.

5. Public Information

Some information is intended to be visible to other eligible users. This may include your first name, age, city/state, profile photos, selected profile fields, prompt answers, availability status, and public discovery information. You should not place private information in public profile fields.

Hopeless Ro is designed not to publicly display your legal name, exact date of birth, email address, phone number, exact home address, exact coordinates, government ID, device token, private reports, or private safety records.

6. Date of Birth and Age

We collect date of birth or age-related information to confirm adult eligibility and calculate public age. Your exact date of birth is private and is not intended to appear on your public profile. Only your age may be shown publicly.

7. Location and ZIP Code

Hopeless Ro may use your current location if you choose “Use Current Location” and grant device permission. You may also enter a home ZIP code so the app can derive and save a city/state for your public profile. Your ZIP code is intended to be used to derive city/state and support account/profile functionality; it is not intended to be shown publicly.

Ro Signal and discovery features are designed around approximate location concepts such as city/state, distance, availability, radius, and privacy modes. We do not intend to publicly show exact coordinates, exact addresses, or live movement trails.

8. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure accounts.
• Verify adult eligibility and calculate public age.
• Build and display public profiles.
• Upload, store, crop, display, and manage profile photos and message photos.
• Operate discovery, nearby profiles, Ro Signal, The First Five, The Rose Room, message counters, and conversation decisions.
• Send push notifications, message alerts, account notices, safety alerts, and support responses.
• Moderate profiles, photos, messages, reports, and safety concerns.
• Detect, investigate, prevent, and respond to spam, fraud, scams, harassment, abuse, security incidents, and policy violations.
• Improve app performance, user experience, reliability, design, safety, and customer support.
• Comply with legal obligations, preserve evidence, enforce terms, and protect rights, safety, and property.

9. Messaging and Moderation

Hopeless Ro is a dating and messaging service. Messages, photos, reports, profile content, and safety metadata may be stored and may be reviewed when needed for safety, support, moderation, legal compliance, or abuse prevention. We may use automated flags, manual review, or service-provider tools to identify spam, fraud, harassment, sexual exploitation, child safety issues, violent threats, or other policy violations.

We are not obligated to monitor all messages, and we cannot guarantee that every harmful message or user will be detected. You should use block and report tools and contact emergency services if you are in immediate danger.

10. Photos and Camera/Photo Library

If you grant camera or photo-library access, Hopeless Ro may allow you to select, capture, crop, upload, store, and display photos. We use photos for profile display, messaging, safety review, and app functionality. You should only upload photos you have the right to use and should not upload photos involving minors, private images without consent, or illegal content.

11. Push Notifications

If you allow notifications, Hopeless Ro may send messages, account updates, safety notices, Rose Room activity, First Five activity, and other relevant alerts. Notification content may appear on your device lock screen depending on your device settings. You can change notification permissions in your device settings.

12. Cookies, Website Data, and Similar Technologies

Our website may use cookies, local storage, analytics, theme features, or similar technologies to operate pages, remember choices, measure performance, support security, and improve the website. Your browser may allow you to limit cookies or clear stored data.

13. How We Share Information

We may share information in the following ways:

• With other users: public profile information, photos, city/state, age, prompts, messages, Ro Signal availability, and other information you choose to share through app features.
• With service providers: vendors that help with hosting, database storage, authentication, cloud storage, push notifications, maps/location, analytics, crash reporting, security, moderation, payments, app distribution, email, and support.
• For safety and legal reasons: when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect users, prevent harm, investigate abuse, enforce policies, comply with law, respond to legal process, or protect rights and property.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or transfer of some or all of our business.
• With your direction or consent: when you request or authorize sharing.

We do not sell your personal information in the ordinary sense of selling a customer list for money. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide choices as required by law.

18. Account Deletion

You may request deletion through the app where available or by contacting itsjosephsapps@gmail.com. We may need to verify your account before processing a deletion request. Deleting the app from your device does not automatically delete your account or all information stored on our systems.

19. Children and Minors

Hopeless Ro is for adults 18+ only. We do not knowingly allow minors to use Hopeless Ro. If we learn that a minor has created an account, we may remove the account and related content. If you believe a minor is using Hopeless Ro or appears in content on the Service, contact us immediately.

20. State and Regional Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain information about certain personal data, or to opt out of certain processing.
