Hopeless Ro Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By using Hopeless Ro, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Safety Standards. If you do not agree, do not use Hopeless Ro. If you use Hopeless Ro on behalf of another person or entity, you represent that you have authority to bind them to these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates may be posted in the app, on the website, or otherwise made available. Your continued use after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

2. Eligibility: Adults Only

Hopeless Ro is only for adults who are at least 18 years old. You may not create an account, browse profiles, upload content, send messages, or use any part of Hopeless Ro if you are under 18. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and legally able to enter into this agreement.

We may request information or take steps to verify age, identity, account ownership, or safety concerns. We may suspend or remove any account that appears to be underage, false, unsafe, fraudulent, or otherwise in violation of these Terms. If you believe a minor is using Hopeless Ro, contact us immediately at itsjosephsapps@gmail.com.

3. About Hopeless Ro

Hopeless Ro is designed around intentional dating features, including public profiles, profile photos, prompts, Ro Signal, nearby discovery, The First Five, The Rose Room, messaging, blocking, reporting, and safety tools. The Service is intended to help adults discover and communicate with potential connections. Hopeless Ro does not guarantee compatibility, dates, relationships, marriage, family outcomes, personal safety, user identity, or user conduct.

We may add, change, limit, suspend, remove, or discontinue features at any time. Some features may require account verification, device permissions, location access, subscription or payment, or compliance with safety standards.

4. Account Registration and Security

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating and maintaining your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must keep your login credentials secure and notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may not:

• Create an account for someone else without permission.
• Allow another person to use your account.
• Impersonate another person, business, public figure, or organization.
• Create multiple accounts to avoid blocks, reports, bans, or safety restrictions.
• Use false legal, age, location, or identity information.

5. Public Profile and Private Account Information

Your public profile may display your first name, age, city/state, photos, relationship intention, height, body type, occupation, children/family plans, faith, dating pace, love language, communication style, “Why am I here?”, “My ideal match,” and other information you choose to share. Private information such as your legal name, exact date of birth, email address, phone number, exact coordinates, authentication identifiers, device tokens, reports, moderation records, and safety metadata is not intended to be shown publicly.

You are responsible for the information you place on your public profile. Do not share private information such as home address, workplace, school information, banking information, verification codes, government IDs, children’s information, or anything you are not comfortable making visible to other users.

6. User Content

“User Content” includes profile information, photos, messages, prompt answers, Ro Signal activity, reports, safety check-ins, and any other content or information you submit, upload, send, display, or make available through Hopeless Ro.

You keep ownership of your User Content. However, by using Hopeless Ro, you grant Joseph S Apps, LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, copy, process, display, transmit, moderate, analyze, remove, and otherwise use your User Content as needed to operate, protect, improve, support, and promote Hopeless Ro, enforce our policies, and comply with law.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to your User Content and that your User Content does not violate any law, privacy right, intellectual property right, publicity right, contractual obligation, or these Terms.

7. Content and Behavior Not Allowed

You may not upload, send, request, promote, or engage in content or conduct that includes:

• Harassment, threats, stalking, intimidation, bullying, or repeated unwanted contact.
• Hate speech, racism, colorism, sexism, homophobia, religious abuse, national origin abuse, disability abuse, or demeaning conduct.
• Fetishizing, degrading, exploiting, or objectifying Black people, Black culture, or any protected group.
• Impersonation, catfishing, fake accounts, stolen photos, misleading identity, or deceptive profile information.
• Scams, romance fraud, phishing, financial manipulation, investment schemes, requests for money, gift cards, login codes, banking information, or cryptocurrency.
• Sexual pressure, coercion, sexual harassment, non-consensual sexual content, image-based abuse, revenge porn, or sexual exploitation.
• Any content involving minors, sexualized minors, child sexual abuse material, grooming, attempts to contact minors, or requests to exchange sexual content involving minors.
• Sharing another person’s private information, exact location, messages, screenshots, photos, workplace, address, or contact information without permission.
• Threats of violence, self-harm promotion, trafficking, weapons sales, illegal drugs, illegal services, or other unlawful activity.
• Spam, bots, scraping, fake engagement, reverse engineering, hacking, automated account creation, or attempts to bypass security protections.

8. The First Five

The First Five is designed to encourage thoughtful communication. Each participant receives a limited number of early messages. Messages may include text or media where allowed. Decision actions such as choosing to continue, sending interest, saying goodbye, blocking, or reporting may be available separately from typed messages.

If either participant chooses not to continue, the conversation may be closed. When a conversation is closed, users may still be able to view public profile information, but messaging may no longer be available for that connection. You may not pressure, harass, or repeatedly contact someone after a goodbye, close, block, or lack of mutual interest.

9. The Rose Room

The Rose Room is intended for continued messaging after mutual interest. Access to The Rose Room does not guarantee compatibility, consent, exclusivity, relationship status, safety, or any offline outcome. Users remain responsible for their communication, boundaries, and decisions. You may leave, block, or report at any time.

10. Ro Signal, Discovery, and Location

Ro Signal helps show availability within discovery and map experiences. Hopeless Ro is designed to use approximate location concepts such as city/state, distance, zones, radius, and availability status rather than showing exact street-level coordinates publicly. You are responsible for deciding when Ro Signal is live or private.

You may not use Hopeless Ro to track, stalk, follow, monitor, pressure, or expose another person’s location. Do not request or share exact addresses, current real-time movements, hotel rooms, workplaces, school locations, or private location details unless you knowingly choose to do so outside Hopeless Ro at your own risk.

11. Blocking, Reporting, Moderation, and Enforcement

Hopeless Ro may provide tools to block users, report content, report accounts, close conversations, and request review. Reports may be reviewed with profile information, messages, photos, account metadata, safety check-ins, device identifiers, and other relevant records.

We may, at our discretion and without prior notice, remove content, limit features, restrict messaging, close conversations, disable Ro Signal, suspend accounts, ban users, preserve records, notify users, or contact appropriate authorities when we believe it is necessary to protect users, protect the platform, investigate abuse, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.

We are not obligated to monitor all content or resolve every dispute. We do not promise that moderation will detect every violation or prevent all harmful conduct.

12. Offline Meetings and User Responsibility

Hopeless Ro does not supervise, control, verify, or assume responsibility for offline meetings or real-world interactions. You are solely responsible for deciding whether to communicate with, meet, date, travel with, share information with, or enter any relationship with another user.

Use caution before meeting. Meet in public, tell someone you trust, use your own transportation, do not send money, keep your phone charged, and leave if you feel unsafe. If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services. Hopeless Ro is not an emergency reporting tool.

13. No Background Checks or Identity Guarantee

Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, Hopeless Ro does not conduct criminal background checks, sex offender registry checks, financial checks, employment checks, marriage status checks, or comprehensive identity verification on users. Verification features, if offered, are limited tools and are not a guarantee that a user is safe, truthful, single, legally available, compatible, or free of criminal history.

14. Payments, Subscriptions, and Future Premium Features

Hopeless Ro may offer paid features, subscriptions, profile boosts, premium filters, or other paid services in the future. Pricing, renewal terms, cancellation terms, and refund rules will be shown at the point of purchase when applicable. Purchases made through an app store may be subject to that app store’s billing, cancellation, and refund policies.

15. Intellectual Property

Hopeless Ro, Joseph S Apps, The First Five, The Rose Room, Ro Signal, logos, designs, copy, software, code, graphics, icons, layouts, and related materials are owned by Joseph S Apps, LLC or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, sell, rent, scrape, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our intellectual property except as expressly allowed by law or written permission.

16. Third-Party Services

Hopeless Ro may rely on third-party services for authentication, hosting, cloud storage, push notifications, maps, analytics, crash reporting, moderation, payments, app distribution, or other operations. We are not responsible for the availability, security, policies, or practices of third-party services. Your use of third-party services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

17. Account Deletion and Termination

You may stop using Hopeless Ro at any time and may request account deletion through the app or by contacting support. We may suspend, limit, or terminate your access if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk, misused the Service, or used Hopeless Ro unlawfully.

Some records may be retained after deletion when needed for legal compliance, safety, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, backup restoration, or enforcement of bans and abuse-prevention measures, as described in the Privacy Policy.

18. Disclaimers

Hopeless Ro is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, compatibility, safety, and reliability.

We do not guarantee that Hopeless Ro will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, free from harmful users, free from objectionable content, or successful in producing any match, conversation, date, relationship, marriage, family, or personal result.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Joseph S Apps, LLC, its owners, employees, contractors, partners, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or enhanced damages, including lost profits, lost data, emotional distress, personal injury, loss of goodwill, relationship outcomes, user conduct, offline meetings, or unauthorized access, arising from or related to Hopeless Ro.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to Hopeless Ro will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Hopeless Ro in the six months before the claim or one hundred dollars ($100).

20. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Joseph S Apps, LLC, its owners, employees, contractors, partners, service providers, and affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from or related to your use of Hopeless Ro, your User Content, your interactions with other users, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, or your violation of another person’s rights.

21. Disputes, Governing Law, and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at itsjosephsapps@gmail.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Any court proceeding that is not subject to arbitration or small-claims resolution must be brought in a state or federal court located in North Carolina, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Any arbitration, class-action waiver, jury waiver, or other dispute limitation should be reviewed by legal counsel before final publication to ensure enforceability for your business and users.

22. App Store Terms

If you access Hopeless Ro through Apple App Store, Google Play, or another app marketplace, your use may also be subject to that store’s terms, payment rules, subscription rules, and device policies. Those third parties are not responsible for providing support for Hopeless Ro unless their own policies say otherwise.
