Hopeless Ro is built for intentional adult dating, real conversations, and respectful connection. These Safety Standards explain what behavior is allowed, what is prohibited, how users can protect themselves, and how Hopeless Ro may respond to safety concerns.
1. Our Community Standard
Hopeless Ro is for adults who want intentional connection, respect, emotional maturity, and honest communication. Users must treat each other with dignity. No user is owed a response, explanation, date, photo, phone number, address, social media handle, money, affection, sexual content, or continued access to another person.
Consent, privacy, safety, honesty, and respect are required across all parts of Hopeless Ro, including profiles, photos, Ro Signal, The First Five, The Rose Room, reports, support requests, and offline interactions arranged through the Service.
2. Adults Only: 18+ Requirement
Hopeless Ro is strictly for adults 18 and older. Minors may not create accounts, appear in dating profiles, send or receive messages, use Ro Signal, be included in sexual or romantic content, or participate in Hopeless Ro in any way. Users must not invite, encourage, assist, or allow minors to access the Service.
If we believe an account is underage or connected to a minor, we may remove content, suspend the account, request verification, preserve records, and take other safety actions.
3. Child Safety and Exploitation Policy
Hopeless Ro has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material, child sexual exploitation, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, sexualized content involving minors, attempts to contact minors, or any content that endangers children. This applies to real, fictional, AI-generated, altered, drawn, or otherwise created content.
Users may not upload, request, discuss, trade, threaten to share, solicit, or link to sexual or exploitative content involving minors. Users may not use Hopeless Ro to identify, contact, groom, exploit, traffic, coerce, blackmail, or endanger minors.
When we become aware of content or conduct that appears to involve child exploitation or serious harm to a minor, we may remove the content, suspend or ban accounts, preserve evidence, and report to appropriate authorities or child-safety organizations when required or appropriate.
4. Profile Photo and Family/Children Safety
Hopeless Ro is a dating app for adults. Users should not upload photos of children to dating profiles or message threads. Users should not post school names, daycare information, children’s schedules, children’s faces, addresses, medical information, custody details, or other information that could identify or endanger a child.
Users may answer adult profile questions about whether they have children or want children, but those answers should not expose a child’s private identity or location.
5. Identity, Honesty, and Profile Safety
Profiles should represent real adults honestly. Do not use stolen photos, fake names intended to deceive, fake age, fake relationship status, misleading location, fake occupation, false verification claims, or another person’s identity. Do not create accounts to spy, harass, bypass a block, or mislead users.
Hopeless Ro may remove or limit accounts that appear fake, deceptive, unsafe, fraudulent, underage, or otherwise harmful.
6. Consent and Communication
Consent matters in every message and interaction. Do not pressure users for replies, photos, phone calls, sex, dates, personal information, locations, social media accounts, or off-app communication. Respect “no,” “not interested,” silence, a closed conversation, a goodbye, a block, or a report.
Unlimited messaging in The Rose Room does not mean unlimited access to another person. Users may leave, block, report, or stop responding at any time.
7. The First Five Safety Rules
The First Five is designed for thoughtful, respectful conversations. Messages should be intentional and appropriate. Do not use The First Five to manipulate, rush, insult, interrogate, pressure, solicit money, request explicit content, demand contact information, or force someone to continue.
If one person chooses not to continue after The First Five, that decision must be respected. The conversation may be closed, and messaging may no longer be available for that connection.
8. The Rose Room Safety Rules
The Rose Room is for mutual interest and continued communication. Users must still follow all safety rules. Do not assume romantic, sexual, exclusive, financial, or offline consent because someone entered The Rose Room. The Rose Room is a messaging area, not a guarantee of trust, compatibility, or safety.
9. Ro Signal and Location Safety
Ro Signal lets users show availability for discovery. Use it carefully. Hopeless Ro is designed around approximate discovery and city/state visibility. Users must not pressure anyone for exact location, track another person, follow another person, reveal another person’s location, or use Ro Signal to monitor movement.
Do not share home addresses, hotel rooms, workplace addresses, school locations, live movements, or private locations with someone you do not know and trust.
10. Harassment, Hate, and Abuse
Hopeless Ro does not allow harassment, threats, stalking, bullying, intimidation, coercion, degrading comments, slurs, repeated unwanted contact, or abusive behavior. We do not allow racism, colorism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, religious abuse, disability abuse, national origin abuse, or demeaning conduct toward any protected group or identity.
Hopeless Ro is built to celebrate intentional Black love and respectful connection. Fetishizing, degrading, exploiting, or objectifying Black people, Black culture, or any community is not allowed.
11. Sexual Content and Boundaries
Hopeless Ro may restrict or remove nudity, explicit sexual content, unsolicited sexual messages, sexual pressure, sexual harassment, non-consensual sexual content, image-based abuse, revenge porn, sexual threats, and attempts to coerce sexual activity or sexual media.
Do not send explicit content unless the feature allows it and the recipient has clearly consented. Do not save, share, post, threaten, or distribute another person’s private images or messages without consent.
12. Scams, Money, and Financial Safety
Do not send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, banking information, login codes, verification codes, personal documents, or financial assistance to someone you meet on Hopeless Ro. Romance scams may involve urgent emergencies, investment opportunities, travel issues, business opportunities, military stories, medical bills, or requests to move quickly off the app.
Hopeless Ro prohibits scams, phishing, fraud, investment schemes, fake giveaways, paid companionship solicitation, account takeovers, and financial manipulation.
13. Prohibited Conduct
Users may not use Hopeless Ro to engage in or promote:
- Harassment, stalking, threats, bullying, intimidation, or repeated unwanted contact.
- Violence, threats of violence, weapons sales, terrorism, trafficking, illegal drugs, or illegal services.

15. Offline Dating Safety
If you choose to meet someone offline, take precautions:

- Tell a trusted person who you are meeting, where you are going, and when you expect to return.
- Use your own transportation and avoid depending on the other person for a ride.

- Call emergency services if there is immediate danger.
16. Health, Wellness, and Personal Boundaries
Users are responsible for their own physical, emotional, sexual, and personal boundaries. Hopeless Ro does not provide medical, legal, therapy, counseling, background-check, or crisis services. Seek qualified professional support for medical, mental health, legal, or emergency concerns.
17. Blocking and Reporting
You can block or report users who violate these Safety Standards or make you feel unsafe. Reports may include profile information, messages, photos, account data, safety flags, device information, and related records. We may not be able to share the outcome of every report, but reports help us identify patterns and protect the community.
Blocking is a safety boundary. Do not try to contact someone who blocked you through another account, another platform, another phone number, or another person.
18. Enforcement Actions
Hopeless Ro may take enforcement actions at our discretion, including warnings, content removal, message limits, conversation closure, Ro Signal restrictions, feature restrictions, account suspension, account termination, device or account bans, evidence preservation, and reports to authorities when appropriate.
We may consider context, severity, user history, safety risk, legal obligations, and platform integrity. We are not required to provide advance notice or detailed explanations if doing so could create safety, privacy, security, or enforcement risks.
19. Appeals and Support
If you believe an enforcement action was a mistake, contact us at itsjosephsapps@gmail.com. Include the email or phone number connected to your account and a clear explanation. We may or may not reinstate accounts or content depending on safety, legal, and policy considerations.
20. Safety Reminders for All Users
- Move at a pace that feels right for you.
- Do not ignore red flags.
- Do not send money or financial information.
- Do not share verification codes.
- Do not share exact location too early.
- Use block and report tools early.
- Trust your instincts and leave unsafe situations.
